Plenary Session: Emphasizing Partnerships in DHS Customer Experience

Nathan Lopp is vice president of corporate real estate at United. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing all planning, engineering and construction efforts for United’s U.S. and International on-airportand off-airport facilities. Under Nathan, the team also manages lease and landing fee obligations, as well as the capital and operating plan for all construction projects and facility improvements.Prior to his current role, Nathan served as chief of staff to the former CEO, Oscar Munoz. Previously, Nathan was the managing director of corporate real estate, where he was responsible for United’s rent and landing fee budget at key hubs, negotiating long- and short-term leases with United’s airport partners and managing large-scale capital projects. Nathan served in a variety of roles at United, including revenue management, sales, marketing and customer experience. Nathan holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing and operations management from Indiana University. In his leisure, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Dana, and their two daughters.

Krista I. Powers iscurrently the Vice President of Client Engagement at IDEMIA, where she leadskey, measurable external projects, and cross-functional initiatives to ensure customersatisfaction, growth and superior execution. Prior to her current role, Kristaserved as the Managing Director, Regulatory and Policy United Airlines whereshe led the team responsible for advocating for United’s interest beforeregulatory agencies in the United States. Prior to Krista has a deep backgroundin Homeland Security, having served as Acting Chief of Staff and ExecutiveDirector for Strategy and Policy at the Transportation Security Administration(TSA). She also served on the U. S. House Committee on Homeland Security as the Subcommittee StaffDirector where she oversaw congressional oversight of TSA and the United StatesSecret Service, including managing over 50 hearings and negotiating 22 publiclaws. A native of New York City, Ms. Powers holds a bachelor’s degree fromGeorgetown University. She currently resides in Washington, DC.

Jeanne Meserve is a national security analyst, moderator, and award-winning journalist. She is currently a Security Expert for Canada's CTV News, and co-host of the SpyTalk podcast. While a correspondent and anchor with CNN and ABC Jeanne Meserve earned her profession's highest honors, including two Emmys and the Edward R. Murrow Award. She also contributed to two CNN Peabody Awards.

In addition to participating in the Homeland Security Experts Group, Jeanne is a member of the Transatlantic Commission on Election Integrity, and serves on the board of the non-profit Space Foundation.

Jeanne moderates discussions on a wide array of topics for clients including the AtlanticLIVE, NATO, the Munich Security Conference, and the Halifax International Security Forum.

While at CNN Jeanne anchored worldwide coverage of the Yitzhak Rabin assassination and the death of Princess Diana. After the 9/11 attacks, Meserve created CNN's homeland security beat, covering intelligence, law enforcement, cyber, aviation, border and port security.

After practicing law for two years, Pistole began his 26-year career with the FBI in 1983 and served in Minneapolis, New York, Indianapolis, Boston, and FBI Headquarters in Washington D.C. on multiple assignments. After the attacks of September 11, 2001, Pistole served as head of the counter-terrorism division, and then head of national security. In 2004, Pistole was named Deputy Director for the FBI where he served for 5 ½ years. In 2010, he was confirmed by the Senate as Administrator of the Transportation Security Administration, where he served for 4 ½ years, retiring from government in December 2014.

In 2019, Pistole served on the UAS Blue Ribbon Task Force, and since 2019 has served on the Board of Visitors for the National Intelligence University. He also serves on the Homeland Security Experts Group (HSEG), and several Advisory boards and not for profit and community organization boards.
